Costs savings

As stated in the 2016 EU Heating and Cooling Strategy, “Heating and cooling consume half of the EU’s energy and much of it is wasted. Developing a strategy to make heating and cooling more efficient and sustainable is a priority for the Energy Union.”

Furthermore 1 in 4 households in the EU, over 50 million individuals, cannot afford to adequately heat, cool or light their homes (HEAL, 2019).

In 2023, 15,6 % of the European Union population was in presence of leak, damp and rot in their dwelling (EUROSTAT), corresponding to 70 millions of Europeans (considering that the European Union population in 2023 was 448,8 million according to EUROSTAT).

In 2024, 9,2 % of the European Union population presented an inability to keep home adequately warm (EUROSTAT) corresponding to 41,3 millions of Europeans (considering that the European Union population in 2024 was 449 million, according to EUROSTAT).

SPF in the building envelope will reduce heating and cooling energy load and provide long-term support to move consumers out of energy poverty.

Although installing SPF usually pays for itself after a few winters, a number of tax credits, rebates and incentives are available in most countries for home insulation. Check what is offered by your government!
